The White Ring – pure unadulterated skiing

A legendary skiing circuit on the Arlberg for more than 50 years

The White Ring, the hottest ski track in the Alps, is a sporting challenge that no skier or snowboarder on the Arlberg should miss out on. You don't have to complete the circuit at a racing pace, you can enjoy the wonderful nature and stunning scenic highlights to the full first.

Skiiers at the White Ring race
The White Ring - the longest ski race in the world

It all began with energetic skiing pioneers and a vision. The first drag lift was started up in Zürs more than 60 years ago, the foundation stone for almost endless skiing fun had been laid on the Arlberg and the first stage of the White Ring had been fixed.

Ski to Lech, Zürs, Zug and Oberlech

You have been able to ski the whole White Ring for more than 50 years and winter sports fans can ski from Lech to Zürs, Oberlech and Zug within the skiing area. Leisurely skiers need about half a day to complete the roughly 22 kilometres of slopes and 5,500 metres difference in altitude on the Arlberg in a clockwise direction. The variety-packed circuit through the whole skiing area is a sightseeing tour at the same time. You cross through the stunning Vorarlberg Alps on easy and moderately difficult slopes and enjoy the magical panorama from viewing platforms along the route in between. You can start from any of the locations on the White Ring and of course just ski sections of it too.

The race through the Arlberg ski arena

The White Ring, that's also the name of the legendary race through the whole skiing area on the Arlberg. It's officially the longest skiing race in the world and takes place every year in January. Anyone who is interested can apply for one of the 1,000 starting places and conquer the circuit in a sporting competition on skis, snowboard or via Telemark skiing.

The Tannberg circuit

The second skiing circuit on the Arlberg is the Tannberg circuit. It leads through the Warth-Schröcken skiing area and extends over 17 kilometres and roughly 3,000 metres difference in altitude.

Run of Fame – the new skiing circuit on the Arlberg

With the expansion into Austria's largest skiing area, a new impressive ski circuit has emerged on the Arlberg. The Run of Fame is dedicated to skiing stars from the Arlberg and highlights the skiing area's full dimension: 18,000 metres difference in altitude over 60 kilometres of slopes are the circuit's impressive key figures. Once a year the entire skiing area on this route is covered at a race pace during the Hunt of Fame.
